Astronomy at Portencross

At the wee village of Portencross the night sky is clear enough to see the heavens.



This is me on the Portencross pier and to the right is Venus reflecting of off the Firth of Clyde.



Below is the Milky Way rising above Arran. It one image with an exposure of 15 seconds and ISO 3200.




It was actually pitch black here and I was only able to get detail of the stars with a very high ISO and long exposure.






So, if you're looking for a great place to star gaze, Portencross is definitely one to visit. :)
